Smoothie Shakedown Continues….

Posted by: Debbie Jones on: September 10, 2010

……When I last checked in, I was at day 12 of my original Smoothie Shakedown.

No, I didn’t drop over dead of starvation….. Almost worse….My computer died!!!!

I now have access at the store though, so here I am!!!!

Finished the 2 week Smoothie Shakedown with a total of

12 lbs lost.

Woo-hoo!!!!!

Since then, I can’t say I have been completely faithful to Phase 2 of the Fat Flush Plan.

I have dropped another couple of lbs, though for a total to date of 14 lbs down.

I am getting ready to start ANOTHER Smoothie Shakedown tomorrow,

Sat Sept 11 along with whoever joins me at the store for the first of our 3 part series:

Power Through It!

Posted by: Debbie Jones on: August 26, 2010

Day 11-13

Whew—only 2 more days to go, today and tomorrow.

Broke my plateau, but only by 1 lb, so now a total of 11 lbs down.

Hopefully I’ll hit another 2 or so by th end of 2 weeks.

I’m not going to go hog-wild after the 14 days are over though!

Just a modified version as I move into Phase 2—because I still have a lot more weight to lose.

But I just need to add some more items to my food repertoire.

Still enjoying the shakes though!

Thanks again for following my blog! Dont forget you can subsribe to my updates in the link on the left side of the page!

Cracking Up

Posted by: Debbie Jones on: August 26, 2010

Day 9 & 10

Tough days, the last 2 days.

To start with, I’m at a plateau with my 10lb loss, and can’t seem to get past it.

Yesterday I did well sticking to the plan, but was feeling fatigued and had a headache. Today, woke up with a headache, feeling kind of cranky, had my shake, and still not feeling satisfied.

AND THEN

…..

I had to go grocery shopping (always a danger zone if you are hungry) and I CRACKED!!!!  No, not pizza….no, not fried chicken….not even sushi—though I love it.

I went for…..the SALAD BAR!!!!

I know, not so bad, right? Ha, if only it were so. At least I did only get a small container, and did fill it with the good stuff first, spinach, mixed greens, red cabbage, tomatoes, cucs, radishes, some roasted chicken,

but then….came the sunflower seeds (just a sprinkle), some bleu cheese (ahhhh, cheeeeeezzzzzz), and to top it off, 2 tbsp of ranch.

IT WAS SO GOOD!!!!!!! :)

But now I’ll feel the guilt. One thing I did learn though, is that through this process, I really only did need just a touch of the “bad” stuff to be fully satisfied. Hopefully, it won’t push me in the wrong direction on the scale.

Too far anyway!

Breakthrough!

Posted by: Debbie Jones on: August 12, 2010

Today, day 8, the diet gods decided to smile down upon me

and grant me a 2 lb weight loss!!

(they might be sending me the wrong message after the Sea Breeze last night!!),

which gets me to 10 lbs total!!

I’m really shooting for 20 if at all possible, but it’s all good.

I was lucky enough to demo the Smoothie Shakedown Fruit Smoothie today at GreenAcres,

so that worked well. I think I will be doing so every Wednesday through our classes in September.

Tough Day

Day 7

Yesterday ended up being a rather frustrating and weird day—

probably because I was home and not at the store.

Anyway, stuck through to the plan right up till the end of the day, when……..

along with my cranberry and water plan-approved drink……

I had to add some soda, lime juice and 2 tbsp vodka. :)

At least it wasn’t a piece of pizza!!!! (You are getting the cheese fixation by now, right?).

(Though don’t think I didn’t think about it!)

How are you doing with your Shakedown?

Thanks for reading!

Day 6: 8 Pounds down!!

Posted by: Debbie Jones on: August 9, 2010

As of today, day 6, I’m down 8 lbs all together!

Happy Dance!

That’s the good news. The bad news is we got back from a cruise 2 ½ weeks before I started this, and I’d gained 6 lbs on it!!!! And I’d already needed to lose weight!!!! Ah well, so literally, I’m only down net 2…..But 8 sounds so much better!!!!

And truthfully, have I cheated?

YOU BET

—but not too badly. :)

Sometimes I just needed a crunch in my mouth that a nice cold, crisp piece of jicama just can’t satisfy, so I have had about every 2 days exactly 6 roasted, unsalted almonds. So good!!!

But seriously, would I prefer it to be some fresh, crispy tortilla chips, perhaps topped with some nice sharp, melted, gooey cheddar, a dollop of guacamole and sour cream—

OF COURSE I WOULD!!!!

What, am I crazy???

But you know, the shakes and veggies really are helping me to feel satisfied.

I sure haven’t lost the cravings, but I know realistically, that its emotional, and not hunger.

Now if I start dreaming about pizza….

P.S. If you think you might be interested in starting the Smoothie Shakedown with our program on Sept 11, be sure to come by Green Acres Market this Wed, Aug 11. I’ll be demoing the shake in the deli from 11:30am-2:30pm. Hope to see you there!!!!

Thanks,

Annie

Day 5: Good Energy

Posted by: Debbie Jones on: August 9, 2010

Day 5: Getting a Little Easier

Yesterday I woke up with quite a bit of energy. It helped me get a lot of chores done before heading in for another demo at the store. I know it seems like I’m there every day, but my husband travels for work, sometimes up to 2 weeks at a time, so I try and plan my schedule to work most days he’s gone, so I can be home when he’s home. And yes, I did plan the start of my Smoothie Shakedown on Wed because he was headed out of town!!!

Day 4

Posted by: Debbie Jones on: August 8, 2010

Day 4:

Felt a little slow this morning…not hungry necessarily, but just a little fatigued. Got on the treadmill anyway, after my smoothie ( Yah me!!!!) and off to the store. Passed up all those wonderful demo snacks that we always have out—and boy, there were some really great, salty ones…and don’t get me started on the soups!!!… but I persevered. You know, it’s funny, I’m not really hungry at all following the plan, it’s more about the salt cravings (for me, always the salt over the sweet). But I think that’s a good thing about the “cran-water” (part of the plan is to substitute cran-water to your water intake…1 oz 100% pure unsweetened cranberry juice to 8oz water). It’s so tart , but not too much, being diluted, that it takes some of the “craving” edge off.

Here we go!

Posted by: Debbie Jones on: August 6, 2010

Here we go!  I am at the start of my 10 day Fat Flush Plan- so far, so good!

Day 1

The first day was a little tough–just realizing all the foods you CAN’T have. But I sucked it up and stuck to the plan. The smoothies are actually pretty good, and satisfying. (Despite some comments on the smoothieshakedown.com website under 24-7 support. Lots of good info here though). Thank goodness for fresh cucumbers and tomatoes in the garden this time of year. :) A little apple cider vinegar and I’m good to go.

Day 2

On my second day, I was worried about waking up starving, but not so. Had my salad and protein mid-day (grilled 5 oz chicken breast seasoned with oregano, a little cayenne & onion powder). I was satisfied enough to still do a demo at Green Acres and NOT sample any soups, cookies or other demo items. Will see how long my will power holds, just being there to do my demos!!!! :) One thing I did find is that the multivitamin and mineral caps have a funny taste to me that makes them tough to swallow. So I just open them up and pour them in my smoothies. Problem solved!!!

Day 3- Down 4.5 Pounds!

Woke up with a little hunger headache. Had my serving of fruit for the day, and then my smoothie, and was good to go. Have lost 4.5 lbs so far, but I know that this is mostly from water weight since there is no salt on this diet that retains water. Hope the “real” lbs come off as well. Got back on the treadmill yesterday and will again later today, but so far, energy level doing okay. I’ve heard day 4 & 5 can be kind of tough, but we’ll see!!!

Has anyone else out there tried this plan? I would love to hear how you are doing!
